L.A. RIVER CLEANUP SERVICE PROJECT
BONUS: RAFFLE PRIZES, LIVE MUSIC AND LUNCH AT ‘HOME’ IN SILVERLAKE!
SATURDAY: 5/9, 9AM – 12PM

Join our group of 100-strong volunteers and help clean up our city’s river at this park site just below Los Feliz. For 20 yrs. now, Friends Of The L.A. River has been working to restore the river and this year they’re expecting 1000’s of new participants around the city on this special day.  Event t-shirts will be given free to the first 100 people at our site, a raffle for tickets to the Hollywood Bowl, local bookstores and more. Lunch to follow at ‘Home’ in Silverlake.

This our first service project with GAY FOR GOOD, so there may be a lot of new faces!

LOCATION & DIRECTION (UPDATE):

Marsh Park (2940 Marsh St, LA, 90065.) is just south of Los Feliz by the L.A. River.

By car: (please carpool if you can)
Exit the 5 Freeway at Stadium Way / Riverside Drive. Go northeast on Riverside Drive. Turn right onto Newell Street, then left on Ripple Street. Turn right on Marsh Street and proceed to the end of the street.

By bike:
This is a bike-friendly location with plenty of space, so consider cycling!
Located just downstream of the 2 Freeway on the unofficial bike path, an old access road. It’s just past the end of the Glendale Narrows LA River Bike Path. We'll be set up with a table in the grassy park there.

WHAT TO BRING:
We’ll be cleaning up the river bank and the park. Gloves and bags will be provided, but heavy gardening gloves are *strongly* suggested, (so we don’t have to use disposable ones). Bring a hat, sunscreen, comfortable clothes and shoes, so leave the Prada at home for the day.
Drinks, snacks and a live band will be there to keep us all happy!

LUNCH/DRINKS (UPDATE):

HOME will be delivering lunch for those interested. Please fill out an order form at check-in. CASH ONLY!

You are also welcome to bring your own lunch.

Water and beverages will be provided by EVOLUTION JUICES.
